Freight & Transport

Air vs Sea Comparison

Compare air and sea freight using entered cost, transit time and optional value-of-time assumptions; results are planning estimates.

Note: Daily value is a business assumption. This compares the entered freight charges plus a simple time-value estimate only; inventory risk, reliability, full route charges and service constraints are excluded. A result is not a shipping recommendation by itself.

Formula

Air freight = entered rate × chargeable weight. Net premium = (air freight − sea quote) − ((sea transit days − air transit days) × value per day). A positive day difference favours air on time value; a negative difference favours sea. Other route charges, inventory risk and service differences are excluded.
